Alan King Project's Story
Alan realized the listeners could not be content with what they were given. People craved more emotional interaction with the music performer. The experience needed to be a complete emersion in both the music and the journey. It had to be one that the listener’s emotional connection to music and the world, would take them to places they could only visit in their own consciousness. Thus the “Alan King Project” was created. After the success of previous years, it was clear that this new project had to raise the bar in musical standards. “I needed this project to be larger than life. It needed to be a complete emersion for the ear, something new and different, tell a complete story, but most importantly be the best that it can possibly be“. “King of Flames” is a 20 track, 14 song creation that is a story of love, life, discovery, heartache, and pain. The tracks tell of a young “Lord” from a long past era, who finds his way through the struggles of life, but, as you would guess, he is not what he appears to be. During his journey he is swept off his feet by “a young lass” who is also not what she appears to be. And so the dance of life, love, and heartache unfolds. The ensemble of songs, tell a complete story, but each song also stands on its own. Narration is placed during introductions and among additional music tracks to facilitate the story line. While “King of Flames” tells an entire 80 minute story, the tracks have different styles and moods. Genres of Rock, Metal, Blues and Classical all find a place in this unique ensemble. Correlating to life, not every day of the week is the same. “King of Flames” features some exceptionally talented performers. The keyboards, orchestrations, and piano were all handled by Kevin Kerwin. The multi-talented Jeremy Ehrig enthusiastically embraced the drumming duties. Jody Kermoade and Danny Korb laid down the phenomenal guitar tracks. Chuck Tostenson met rhythm with pitch on the Bass Guitar and Matt Tompkins provided his exceptional voice for the spoken words. Topping it off, are the astounding violin solo tracks by the world renowned Russian violinist, Olga Smola. Only this incredible group of artists could combine their talents to bring Alan’s vision to life. Tracks were recorded at Studio Chalet Baroque and mastering was completed at Warehouse Studios, both in Omaha, Nebraska. Graphic art work was done by Caio Caldas with Cadies Art in Sao Paulo, Brazil and custom clothing was tailored by Lucardis Feist in Lauterberg, Germany. It took over three years to bring the pieces of this project together, to create one cohesive and magical musical listening experience. This album was recorded with a special digital process that is best experienced through headphones. Alan King is a singer, song writer, musician, producer, visionary, and business man who has dedicated his life to creating music for the world, bringing an unparalleled experience to everyone. The Alan King Project’s “King of Flames” has done just that.

      Alan King's History

Currently based in Omaha NE, Alan King has been a part of the music business and community since a very early age. With tours throughout the United States and around the world, Alan has revolved his life around the music industry. Always thinking “outside the box”, he has set new standards for music and live performances across the country. Never satisfied with doing things the “normal” or “easy” way, Alan strives to lead the way and set new standards for music lovers. “Music is an emotional interaction between the listener and the performer. Every emotional interaction is unique. That’s what makes music so powerful,” notes Alan. Born in Tucson AZ, Alan’s musical influences are quite diverse. Early artists like Led Zeppelin, Beethoven and Queen took to his ear, and later on it was artists like Sting, Motley Crue, Nightwish and Whitesnake that provided inspiration. All of these artists played a part in his musical direction over the past many years of song writing and performing. Alan began singing and playing multiple instruments in junior high school. Guitar, bass, piano, and voice were a part of these formative years. “I remember playing in a metal band in a bar and each night we were required to have a parent there because no one in the band was of age. Not only that, but we had to load all our gear in our drummer’s pickup truck because he was the only one old enough to drive.” Throughout junior high school and college, Alan preformed in Madrigal, Swing Choir, Concert Choir, High School Band, Musicals, and All State Choir events. During this time, he was still working and performing live music in local bands to help support himself. At age 22, after working on his music major in college at the University of Omaha, he joined the band Breakout and toured throughout the country. After about a year, a regional touring band, Justin Morgan, was holding auditions and Alan was selected. Justin Morgan toured steadily for five years. “We went through Rock School in Denver, Colorado and really perfected our craft. During these times we would play 5-6 nights in a row at a venue, and then move onto the next city every week. It was really an exciting time to be playing live music. It was a time when people really valued the experience of live shows.” After Justin Morgan, Alan sang for Harder Faster and also toured briefly. “We had the largest stage show in the Midwest with multiple trucks and buses to transport our large scale tour. It took forever to set up, but we sure looked cool. Or at least we thought we did!” Shortly after, in 1989, Alan put together the band Castle. “We were committed to writing and performing original music. After a release of our demo and a few live shows, we were approached by Omaha Records with a recording deal.” In 1991 when cassette tapes were the norm, Castle was the first rock band in the Omaha area to release a CD. To this day, Castle’s music and CDs continue to sell overseas. After the success of Castle, it soon became apparent that Alan had more music to share and so he began working on a solo project. In 1995 the album “I Saw the Rain” was released. This release featured electronic music, orchestration, and heavy guitars. The title track “I Saw the Rain” was written to help draw attention to global climate change, and had a video released in 1996. It also included the ballad “When you loved someone” a duet with Spirit Lake, IA’s country artist, Shannon Brown. It also showcased the talents of Chris Hall on sax. This solo release still draws attention today and is getting thousands of downloads and streams from around the world. After so much early success, other local and regional musicians began to approach Alan for advice. This was the beginning of Alan’s production company. Alan built his own studio, assisted artists in recordings, videos, and began providing audio and lighting production for artists. He also worked heavily in the touring production business, and he toured or worked with world-renowned artists such as Dave Mathews, Tesla, Barbra Mandell, Winger, Dokken and many, many others. Even as the production business continued to grow, Alan still made time for his own writing and recording. Soon, a few friends asked him to play keyboards in a Christian band, Revelation. This progressive project recorded and also played some incredible shows. “One night we were out at a club and saw a disco tribute show and Alan thought, “We can do that with the 80s hair bands!” So in 1999, 3D In Your Face was formed to do just that. 3D brought the sights and sounds of the 80’s hair bands to the crowds. With the hair, dress, pyrotechnics, choreography, and attitude, it quickly gained momentum. The members of 3D- being very talented musicians- not only wanted to put on a great live show, but they wanted to create new, original music as well. Over the course of 3D’s history, five CDs of original 80s styled music were released, along with five music videos. In support of the work, 3D toured across the country performing at every size venue from clubs, to private events, to arenas and festivals of over 20,000 people. The band played with artists such as Ratt, David Lee Roth, Vince Neal, Night Ranger, Poison, Buck Cherry, Lita Ford, Dokken, Firehouse and many more. Soon it became apparent that a new musical journey would begin........and so began The Alan King Project.
